Maison du moyen age lannion, maison a colombages
Nestled in the peaceful valley of river Léguer, between the Pink Granite and Heather Coast, Lannion is the Côtes d'Armor region's secont-largest town, with a population of 19 350.
An administrative, industrial, university, business, sporting, cultural and tourist centre, the Tregor's capital is the ideal base for touring and enjoying all the pleasures provided by Brittany, both invigorating and authentic.
Since the setting up of the National Centre for the Telecommunications studies here in 1960, Lannion has been the birthplace of fantastic innovations in digital telephony, fibre optics, electronic highways, teletourism, etc . Today, the Anticipa-Lannion technopolis gathers 3000 researchers and engineers within an industrial environnment where electronic, information technology and telecommunications predominate.

At Pleumeur-Bodou, just 5 kilometers from the town, the Science Park is a french showcase for the history of telecommunications, offering a high-quality tour of its museum and other attractions.
In a historial setting symbolised by the Brélévenez church and the halftimbered houses in the town square, many discoveries await you in its squares, streets and paved alleys, its churches, chapels and monasteries.

The wide ranging selection of refined shops in the heart of town is perfect for window-shopping and bargain-hunting, all year round...don't miss on any account the great event each thursday : Lannion openair market. A stopping place for gourmets, Lannion also offers the enchantments of restaurants offering traditionnaly prepared fare. The city is greatly enlivened by the dynamic action of cultural associations. Each summer Les Tardives ( outdoor festival of music, stories an dance ), the Organ Festival and Summer Photography Festival complement the many shows put on, from september trough may, at the Carré Magique theatre, seating 850 and nearby Ursulines hall seating 1500.
Just a few minutes from centre, strollers and walkers can take the rambling trails ; after white-water training, kayak enthusiasts can row the tides toward the castles in the Tregor areas or towards the Pink Granite Coast, whilst swimmers can head for the beaches.

Above and beyond this combination of varied entertainments and activities, Lannion is a flowery city in all year long, a city set deep in the estuary crossed by the river Léguer, bordered by town paths and the wooded shores of Loguivy-Lès-Lannion and offers a living environment which does credit to its tourist resort label.
